Political Cartoons

This cartoon shows Donald Trump as a child (which he shows himself to be quite often) with his hand in a cookie jar. The jar is labeled "Trump Foundation Cookie Jar" and the cookie "Self-dealing". The phrase, "caught with their hand in the cookie jar" immediately springs to mind. The artist is clearly trying to portray the trump is taking his own "cookies" or stealing from his charity.

Clinton and Trump riding magic carpets made of money, while both thinking "I understand the average person better!" This is  strong image, because the average person doesn't have a lot of money like these two. The idea that either of them understands the average man in laughable.

This cartoon shows a man and a woman discussing
the recent debate. A dead heat, half the country hates Clinton and half hate Trump, its saying that either way, no one really likes their choice.

Thinkers
1. How is each candidate portrayed in the cartoons?
The first cartoon shows Trump as a thief
The second shows how out of touch with the average man each candidate really is.
The last shows unhappy Americans are with both of the candidates.

2. Do you feel that these are fair representations?
Yes, these portray exactly how I feel about the candidates right now.

3. Do you think this is an effective means for getting a point across?
Yes, I have a hard time expressing myself in words. Plus the pictures make it easy to SEE what people mean.

Opinion:
Does anyone else not notice that we are constantly referring to Hillary and Trump? Why do we not say Hillary and Donald? Why not Clinton and Trump? Why Hillary? is it the patriarchy keeping her down? Or is it a decision she and her campaign made to separate herself from her husband?

Why landslide elections don't happen much anymore -- but could this year

Summary
For the first time in more than a generation there is a chance of a landslide victory. Polls consistently keep showing Republican nominee, Donald Trump, behind Democratic nominee, Hilary Clinton, as much as double digits.
"At this point, a landslide is a real possibility," said David B. Cohen, political science professor at the University of Akron. "The fact that reliably red states like Georgia, Arizona, and Utah are in play point toward a huge potential triumph for Hillary Clinton." But, the election is more than 11 weeks away so it is still anyone's game.

Thinkers:Does this article show any bias? I feel that this is a fairly balanced article. Yes, it is saying that Hilary stands a better chance of winning. But, it does say that anyone could win.

How does this article apply to me? Yes, I am a registered voter. I Gov't teacher. And an active member of American society.
